Tour #4 A ZAPOTEC COOKING EXPERIENCE
WHAT WILL YOU DO?
This tour focuses on spending the day in our traditional kitchen, preparing Zapotec food, from farm to table.
After a light breakfast with hot chocolate and bread, we will begin our experience in the kitchen. You can learn about the process of making tortillas, beginning with shelling the corn until to have the tortillas.
We will also walk a bit through the streets of my town to discover its architecture, history, social and political structure while we shop for some needed ingredients in a small local store.
Before eating, we will help my mother prepare the delicious sauces that she makes with ancestral techniques. We will prepare quesadillas, memelitas, and eggs on the comal, and then sit down to enjoy our food.

ITINERARY
My driver and I will pick you up at a convenient spot for you in Oaxaca City at 08:30 am . We’ll enjoy the scenic 75 minute drive through the central valleys and arrive to my home town
We’ll start the day with a delicious traditional breakfast of the region.
We’ll start shelling the corn and then step by step to get the maza and make tortillas
We are going to shopping ingredients that we’ll occupy for our dishes
We’ll help my mom to make 2 kinds of salsas
After our full day, you can relax and enjoy the scenery as we deliver you back to Oaxaca City.
