WHAT WILL YOU DO?

During this tour you will be able to discover , learn about, and taste some of the many foods that this town offers.

We will visit some of the artisans who work hard every day to offer this authentic experience to visitors, including a small walk through the center of the town. Here you will be able to learn about our architecture, history and the self-government we have (usos y costubres).

Mezcal occupies a very important place in Zapotec culture and ritual, so we will also visit an artisan mezcal distillery. For lunch, my mother will prepare fresh and healthy traditional food, including tortillas that she makes in her kitchen.

After our full day, you can relax and enjoy the scenery as we deliver you back to Oaxaca City.

ITINERARY

DEPARTURE FROM OAXACA CITY

My driver and I will pick you up at a convenient spot for you in Oaxaca City at 08:30 am . We’ll enjoy the scenic 75 minute drive through the central valleys and arrive to my home town

TRADITIONAL BREAKFAST

We’ll start the day with a delicious traditional breakfast of the region.

TRADITIONAL CHOCOLATE

We will show you a little about the production process of chocalate with an ancient technique.

WALKING AROUND DOWNTOWN

We’ll walk some central streets to know the town hall and the church.

TYPICAL CLOTHES

We will visit a small and local store when a family create embroidered blouses and aprons . FYI, these artisans accept cash only

LUNCH

My mother will prepare a delicious Zapotec meal of this region with fresh, wholesome food, including tortilla that she makes on the spot in our kitchen

LEARN TO MAKE TORTILLAS

You’ll love trying to make your own tortillas , my family will teach you step by step how they make them

ARTISANAL SHOES

we will visit a workshop where a coperative of zapotec women make artisanal shoes

ARTISANAL AND TRADITIONAL MEZCAL DISTILLERY

We will visit a traditional mezcal distillery with artisan techniques. Includes a mezcal tasting.

RETURN TO OAXACA CITY

After our full day, you can relax and enjoy the scenery as we deliver you back to Oaxaca City.
